Yantra symbol and meanings

The yantra symbol for Anahata is two triangles, one right side up and one up side down. The heart chakra is in the middle; it is the balance, so there are three chakras above and three below. These triangles also represent the balance between masculine and feminine energy. 

The twelve petals on the outside of represent twelve different vrittis, kam, kham, gam, gham, ngam, cham, chham, jam, jham, nyam, tam and tham in Sanskrit. They mean lust, feaud, indecision, repentance, hope, anxiety, longing, impartiality, arrogance, incompetence, discrimination, and defiance.
