The characteristics of Anahata include divine/unconditional love, forgiveness, compassion, understanding, balance, group consciousness, oneness with life, acceptance, peace, openness, harmony, and contentment. It is also associated with charity and psychic healing.
Energy Focus
The heart chakra is located in the central cavity between the two lungs and between the spine and heart. This area is also referred to as the heart center. It is here that selfish, personal emotion is translated into devotion and compassion for others. The second psychic knot, or center for emotional attachment is also located in the heart chakra.
Function
The function of Anahata is anchor people from their higher selves. Anahata, as it is the middle chakra, provides the link between the lower chakras, the earthy-er chakras, and the upper chakras, the more divine chakras. Anahata provides the body and the blood with energy and the drive to live. It is also partly responsible for blood circulation.
