The ruling deity of Anahata is Ishana Rudra Shiva. His skin is a deep blue color, and he has two arms. His hair is flowing with the river Ganga and emanates the knowledge that "I am that." Ishana is a peaceful, beneficiant deity whose passions--in the form of snakes--are tamed at his side. In his right hand is a trident, a damaru drum in his left.

The ruling planet of Anahata is Venus. It corresponds to the "heart." The heart chakra is in the middle of the other six chakras and is related to giving love without asking for anything in return. Venus the planet is often thought of as the feminine or loving planet.
